Capsim® Version 6 Announcement on Free Download for Linux 64 Bit and Windows (MSYS/MINGW)
Capsim® DSP and Communications System Modeling and Simulation: Click Here for Details
Silicon DSP Corporation is providing the graphical version of Capsim Version 6 on Linux 64 Bit and Windows using MSYS/MINGW at no cost with free download.
Silicon DSP Corporation is providing this free download as it is in the process of porting the graphical version of Capsim to Qt. Capsim Vesrion 7 will be re-written with Qt to increase functionality and provide multi-plaform support. With the port to Qt graphical Capsim will be available on 64 bit Linux, MAC OSX as well as 64 bit Windows (7 and 10).
Silicon DSP Corporation will not provide any support for the free downloads. The Windows MSYS/MINGW version is provided as is. The Linux 64Bit Capsim is provided as is. See Platforms. Since the Linux versions of graphical Capsim depended on Motif and other tools that require a considerable effort by customers to install and maintain across rapid introductions of Linux distributions, we have tested Capsim on Linux Mint 16 and 17. It is straight forward to get Capsim running on Linux Mint. Instructions are provided. This should work with Ubunto distributions. Feel free to try out on other Linux distributions. We will update as we work with other Linux distributions.
We are in the process of porting Capsim to QT. For updates visit the Blog at CCDSP.Org.

For considerable performance and 64 bit operation we highly recommend using the 64 Bit Linux version.
On Windows we have fully tested Capsim 64 Bit Linux (Mint 16 and up) with Virtual Box.
On MAC OS X we have fully tested with Parallels Virtual Machines.

Capsim supports integrated block diagram scripting and combined block diagram modeling, simulation and TCL interpreter scripting for DSP and Communication Systems. Capsim V6 integrates IIR/FIR filter design, Pole-Zero design, Image processing, Speech processing and full support for real and complex vector and matrix operations. Capsim supports user C block development and integration.
Open Source Projects
Silicon DSP Corporation also sponsors major open source efforts to promote the sharing of DSP/Communications modeling, design and simulation tools including visualization tools for the engineering and scientific community. In addition Silicon DSP Corporation has open sourced the C API and TCL scripting for the design and analysis of Transmission Line Networks.
